Our employees are more like family, working together to provide quality nutrition and nutritional support to the clients we serve. The dedication our team members show is inspiring, so we’re highlighting those who have been with Mom’s Meals for 20 years or more and are living out our core values.
Our core values
We treat each customer with care and compassion, as we consider them an extension of our family. Whether it is the warm, understanding voice in the call center taking a meal order, a friendly, helpful route driver reliably delivering much needed meals or one of our registered dietitians providing nutritional counseling, our entire team is compassionate about the work we do and the people we serve.
- Teamwork – Committed to helping each other and working as a team.
- Relentlessly Dependable – Doing whatever we can to meet the obligations to our customers and colleagues.
- Appreciation and Respect – Live the Golden Rule and always treat others with respect.
- Innovation and Constant Improvement – Always seeking to improve. Think boldly, try new things, don’t be afraid to fail, learn from our mistakes.
- Delivering Excellence – Being accountable to both our customers and our internal teams. We’re driven to be our best at all times while exceeding expectations.
Celebrating team members with
20 years or more
A heartfelt “Thank you!” goes out to these special team members who live our core values every day in all they do. Last year we celebrated our 25th anniversary. They were there when we started as a family-owned business with small-town roots and have seen our growth into the leading provider of comprehensive food as medicine solutions. Find out about what their experiences have been and what being part of the Mom’s Meals family means to them.
Lanette Arne — 20 years
Grinnell Kitchen Supervisor
“I started 20 years ago in the ‘original’ Nevada, Iowa, kitchen. Over the years, I’ve learned it all. This job gave me confidence and purpose, something I didn’t know I needed back when I started. I look back and can see how much of my personal growth took place through this job. I just love this company. I’m proud of what it stands for.”
Jon Bellis — 21 years
Director, Information Technology
“I was working full-time somewhere else when a friend asked if I wanted to work part-time in the evenings at the PurFoods warehouse. I needed the money, so after I clocked out of my full-time job, I worked at the warehouse until late in the evening. After a few months, I was offered full-time work at PurFoods. I’m so thankful they took a chance on me, and that they allow people with the aptitude to try, to fail and to move on. It’s one of the pillars of our company. Watching the company grow from its infancy to what it is today is unbelievable.”
Nathan Jensen — 20 years
Senior Vice President, Sales Operations and Enablement
“Looking back, our team created good energy fueled by doing things the right way and for the right reasons. When you build a business this way, exciting things materialize. We grew at the exact right pace. We didn’t grow so fast that we couldn’t keep up or so slow that we couldn’t survive. We remain mobile and innovative, which is critical in our ability to navigate a complicated market. We’re the best at this in the country — the competition is not even close. We maintain a prominent level of professionalism and sophistication around what we do, which is why the largest health plans in the country partner with Mom’s Meals.”
John Phillips — 20 years
Vice President, National Programs
“I’ve had the pleasure of being part of the Mom’s Meals family for 20 years. Through it all, it’s remarkable how the culture has remained steady and strong. You would think that as we grow, the culture could possibly become diluted or slightly stray in another direction. But we have continued an incredible culture of caring, not only with our clients, but also with our employees.”
Congratulations and thank you to these individuals for all you do for Mom’s Meals and for the customers we have the privilege to serve!
